Roland-Story volleyball clinches outright HOIAC title against Greene County, 3-0

STORY CITY — The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School. The Norsemen entered at 26-7, 7-0 in league play and ranked #12 in Class 3A, while Greene County entered at 14-9 and 5-1 in league play.

Set 1 would be back and forth throughout much of the set, but the Norsemen put together a late push to grab a 25-19 victory, as set 2 would be a total domination from Roland-Story with a 25-7 win. Set 3 would come down to the wire, as the Rams led 21-19 at one point, but Roland-Story rallied to cap a 25-22 win and a 3-0 sweep, as the Norsemen captured an outright Heart of Iowa Conference title.

The KQWC Player of the Game was junior Brookelyn Jondle as she finished with 10 kills and 4 aces, while Caitlyn Flattebo finished with 8 kills and 3 aces.

Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Knoxville Tournament at Knoxville High School, beginning at 8:30 AM.
