A Texas motorist was involved in a semi accident shortly after midnight last Tuesday morning near Williams. The Iowa State Patrol reported the accident at the ramp on Highway 20 leading to Interstate 35. Reportedly a 2025 model Volvo semi driven by Damon Mauney of Angleton, Texas was attempting to exit Highway 20 west bound to Interstate 35 southbound. The Mauney was traveling too fast for the road due to the wet conditions when it ran off the road and collided into the ditch. The semi then came to rest part way on the on ramp with Highway 20 and Interstate 35. The Mauney semi was totaled in the early Tuesday morning accident. Investigating state trooper Dylan Hoelscher cited Damon Mauney with Failure to Maintain Control.
