Eagle Grove volleyball falls at home North Iowa, 3-1

EAGLE GROVE — The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team returned to action on Monday night as they hosted the Bison of North Iowa in Top of Iowa West action at Eagle Grove Elementary School. Eagle Grove entered at 4-12 and 2-5 in conference play, while North Iowa entered at 10-11 and 2-4 in conference play.

Set 1 would be back and forth to start the night as a late Eagle Grove push gave the Eagles a 25-22 win and a 1-0 lead. North Iowa would rally by controlling the 2nd set throughout for a 25-15 win, before a razor-thin 3rd set was taken by the Bison by a 25-23 final. In set 4, North Iowa controlled early before the Eagles rallied late and held a 20-19 lead at one point, but the Bison had the final push in a 25-21 win and a 3-1 victory.

The KQWC Player of the Game was Eagle Grove junior Holly Anderson, who finished with a career-high 15 kills, while Kendra Schild had 9 kills, 3 blocks and 3 aces.

Eagle Grove volleyball returns to action next Tuesday, when they host Newman Catholic in non-conference action on senior night, with first serve at 7:30 PM.
