IOWA FALLS — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the short trip east on Highway 20 to take on the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets in North Central Conference action at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. Webster City entered at 10-8, while Iowa Falls-Alden entered at 11-11.
Set 1 would be a tight one throughout, but it was Iowa Falls-Alden that made the late push to come away with a 25-21 win. Webster City would respond well, controlling set 2 by a score of 25-15 and set 3 25-14 to take a 2-1 lead. The Cadets battled back in set 4 to tie the match in extra rallies by a score of 27-25, but Webster City would have the edge in the winner-take-all 5th set, winning 15-9 and 3-2 overall.
Webster City stats were not available as of Friday morning. Webster City volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Madrid Tournament at Madrid High School with first serve at 8 AM.
