Roland-Story and South Hamilton cross country compete in Nevada Invitational

COLO — The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks cross country teams returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip to eastern Story County to compete in the Nevada Invitational at Hickory Grove Park in Colo. The Norsemen and Hawks were joined by the host Cubs as well as Ankeny, BCLUW, Colo-NESCO, East Marshall, Iowa Falls-Alden, PCM, South Hardin, Van Meter and West Marshall.

Roland-Story’s boys would place 6th with 150 points, but did boast the meet champion in junior Corbin Lucchesi, who won in a time of 17:31.1. Henry Dahlsten was 26th in 20:03.8, Dakota Lowe was 42nd in 21:30.8, Josiah Potratz was 47th in 21:57.1, as Evan Byersdorfer rounded out scoring in 49th with a time of 22:05.1.

South Hamilton would place 8th with 204 points, claiming a top 3 finisher in Jesus Garcia, who placed 3rd in a time of 17:39.9, as Trevor Zanker was 56th in 24:17.1. Kaden Greenlee was 58th in 24:50.8, Caden Christensen was 59th in 24:55.3, while Evan Gibson was 62nd in 26:37.9 to round out scoring.

The Roland-Story and South Hamilton cross country teams return to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Leon Fox Invitational at Perry Golf and Country Club, beginning at 5:15 PM.
