Webster City volleyballs sweeps Hampton-Dumont-CAL in NCC play, 3-0

HAMPTON — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip east into Franklin County to take on the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. Webster City entered at 8-8 and 0-2 in league play, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 3-6 and 1-1 in league play.

Webster City would take control almost immediately on Tuesday night, as they took the opening set by a score of 25-15, before absolute dominating the second set by a score of 25-7. Set 3 would be close early on, but the Lynx would pull away late for a 25-16 win and a 3-0 victory.

The KQWC Player of the Game was junior Avery Poppen, who tallied 5 kills and a game-high 6 aces. Tristyn Wright had a game-high 11 kills, while Evie Davis had 8 kills and 4 blocks, as Jaylyn Bahrenfuss had 6 kills and 3 blocks.

Webster City volleyball returns to action on Thursday, when they host St. Edmond in North Central Conference action at 7 PM at Webster City High School.
