The South Hamilton Hawks volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip to Des Moines to take on the Grand View Christian Thunder in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Grand View Christian High School. South Hamilton entered at 13-10 and 1-1 in league play, as Grand View Christian entered at 9-11 and 1-1 in league play.
Monday’s tone was set right away in set 1, as the Hawks and Thunder went deep into extra rallies in the opener as South Hamilton won 31-29 to take a 1-0 lead. The Hawks followed up with a 25-19 win in set 2, before taking the deciding 3rd set by a similar 25-19 score and a 3-0 sweep.
Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning.
South Hamilton then turned around and hosted the PCM Mustangs in conference action on Tuesday night on Coach Jim Marsh Court at South Hamilton High School.
PCM kept the Hawks at arms length in set 1 for a 25-19 win, before the Mustangs dominated the second set by a score of 25-12. South Hamilton would battle back in the 3rd set, but PCM would pull away late for a 25-17 win and a 3-0 sweep.
Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning as well, South Hamilton volleyball returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Story City to take on rival (3A) #15 Roland-Story in Heart of Iowa Conference action with first serve at 6:30 PM on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com.
