South Hamilton cross country competes in West Marshall Invite

STATE CENTER — The South Hamilton Hawks cross country teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trek into Marshall County to compete in the annual West Marshall Invitational at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center. The Hawks were joined by the host Trojans, as well as Ankeny Christian, Baxter, Colfax-Mingo, Collins-Maxwell, Colo-NESCO, East Buchanan and Lynnville-Sully.

South Hamilton’s boys would place 6th with 142 points, as their top placer was junior Hayden Hill, who finished 8th in a time of 17:22.10, as Jesus Garcia placed 11th in a time of 17:37.08. Trevor Zanker placed 44th in 22:22.52, Kaden Grenlee was 47th in 22:42.43, while Evan Gibson rounded out scoring in 52nd in a time of 23:25.53.

South Hamilton’s girls would place 6th in their meet with 139 points, as their top placer was Olivia Beaune, who placed 20th in 23:24.68, as Cici Herrick finished 23rd in 23:59.63. Bianca Seaton was 37th in 26:01.88, Isabel Swenson was 43rd in 27:16.91, as Rosemary Chamness rounded out scoring in 46th with a time of 27:49.97.

South Hamilton cross country returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Story City for the Roland-Story Invitational at River Bend Golf Course.
