POCAHONTAS — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the drive west on Highway 3 to take on the Pocahontas Area Indians in non-conference action at Pocahontas Area High School. CGD entered with a record of 5-12, while Pocahontas Area entered at 4-16.
Pocahontas Area would take the opening set in a decisive manner by a score of 25-16, before CGD would rally in the 2nd set to win in extra rallies by a score of 28-26. Set 3 would come down to the wire as well, as this time it was Pocahontas coming out on top by a score of 25-23, before the Indians sealed things in set 4 by a score of 25-19 and grabbing a 3-1 victory.
CGD stats were not available as of Wednesday morning, CGD returns to action on Thursday, when they host Clear Lake in North Central Conference action with first serve at 7 PM.
