HUMBOLDT — The Eagle Grove Eagles cross country teams returned to action on Monday night, as they competed in the Humboldt Invitational at Joe Sheldon Park in Humboldt. The Eagles were joined by the host Wildcats, as well as Algona, Bishop Garrigan, Boone, Emmetsburg, Estherville-Lincoln Central, GTRA, Iowa Falls-Alden, Manson-Northwest Webster, Newell-Fonda, North Union, Pocahontas Area, Ridge View, St. Edmond, West Bend-Mallard and West Hancock.
Eagle Grove’s boys would place 4th in the meet with 135 points, as their top placer was junior Hunter Waldo-Martinez, who placed 10th in a time of 19:09.80, as Felix Reyes placed 22nd in a time of 20:42.30. Felix Gonzalez placed 28th in a time of 20:58.30, Cooper Thacker placed 38th in 21:32.10, as Asarel Castro placed 39th in 21:35.40 to round out scoring.
In the girls race, Eagle Grove placed 12th with 299 team points, as sophomore Myka Anderson placed 25th in a time of 24:56.78, as Lydia Kienzle was 59th in a time of 28:07.14. Ingrid Pull was 77th in a time of 29:02.66, Hailey Johnson was 86th in 34:47.70 as Ruby Coldiron rounded out scoring in 75th in a time of 35:04.69.
