This Sunday,September 21st will mark the 125th anniversary of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. It was in 1875 that Rev. Eugene O’Keefe became the first resident pastor in Webster City in addition to the Catholic communities of Williams and Belmond. Through its 125 years, the St. Thomas Aquinas Church has seen changes to the church. The Parish Center was built in 2000 and the renovation of the sanctuary over the last few years. St. Thomas Aquinas School opened in 1952 with a history of providing an education to Catholics and non-Catholics.
A celebration Mass is set for 10:00 a.m. at the church followed by a luncheon and program at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the Parish Center. Sunday’s events are open to the parishioners and the public.
