WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Charles City Comets in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 6-5, while Charles City entered at 1-9.
It would be a slow start for the Lynx, as they fell behind the 8-ball early and lost set 1 to Charles City by a score of 25-21. The Lynx would wake up in set 2, dominating the Comets by a 25-16 score, before set 3 would come down to the wire as Charles City was able to squeak out a 25-23 win. Webster City would battle until the final whistle in set 4, but ultimately lost a 25-21 decision and a 3-1 match.
Tristyn Wright would have a big night at the net, tallying a game-high 17 kills with 2 blocks, as Clara Grossoehme finished with 7 kills and 4 blocks, as Evie Davis had 4 kills and 5 blocks. Lovie Pruismann finished with 4 kills, 28 assists and 4 aces.
Webster City volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to Forest City to compete in the Forest City Tournament with first serve at 9 AM.
