No injuries in a late afternoon situation in Eagle Grove with a suspect apprehended.

EAGLE GROVE- Eagle Grove Police, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol late Wednesday afternoon responded to an incident in which an alleged gunman surrounded a street in the downtown area near Ag Processing,Incorporated on Second Street Northeast and Lucas Street. The incident lasted several hours. Reportedly the subject was harassing another person and was armed with a handgun.A law enforcement negotiator was summoned to end the situation. The subject was then pinned down, with his vehicle  surrounded by police and armored vehicles and multiple squad cars. The Fareway grocery store closed early to avoid any injury to their employees and shoppers. The situation came to a peaceful end with no injuries. The suspect was then taken into custody. The name of the individual was not release by Eagle Grove Police.
