Webster City volleyball falls in 5-set match to Clear Lake, 3-2

WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 6-4, while Clear Lake entered at 4-2.

Webster City started off well, as they took the opening set by a score of 25-16, but Clear Lake responded in set 2 with a 25-20 win to tie the match at 1-1. The Lynx put together a good response, coming away with a 25-18 win in set 3, and held a sizable lead in set 4, but Clear Lake would rally and steal the 4th set by a 26-24 score, as the Lions were the last ones standing in set 5 with a 15-12 win and a 3-2 win.

Our KQWC Player of the Game was sophomore Jalyn Bahrenfuss, who finished with 9 kills and 5 blocks, as Avery Poppen led the Lynx with 10 kills, as Tristyn Wright had 9 kills and 21 assists and Lovie Pruismann had 5 kills and 22 assists.

Webster City volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Charles City in non-conference action at 7 PM.
