BK-CGD, Eagle Grove cross country compete in BK-CGD home meet

BELMOND — The Eagle Grove Eagles and BK-CGD Broncos cross country teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as BK-CGD hosted their home meet at the Belmond Country Club. The Eagles and Broncos were joined by BCLUW, Central Springs, Clear Lake Classical, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Lake Mills, Manson-Northwest Webster, North Butler, North Iowa, Northwood-Kensett, Rockford, West Fork and West Hancock.

BK-CGD’s girls would place 5th in the meet with 124 points, as Lila Swenson placed 3rd in a time of 22:05.1, as Avery Boshart was 22nd in 25:48.9. Johanna Perez was 35th in 26:23.4, Adriana Toj Lopez was 50th in 28:18.7 and Clementine Sifert rounded out scoring in 61st in 30:39.7.

Eagle Grove’s girls were 8th with 166 points, as Myka Anderson was 11th in 23:33.3, Lydia Kienzle was 28th in 26:54.4. Ingrid Pull would be 52nd in 29:09, Ruby Coldiron was 68th in 32:56.8 as Hailey Johnson was 70th in 33:48.1.

In the boys race, Eagle Grove was 7th with 189 points, as their top placer was Hunter Waldo-Martinez, who finished 15th in 18:32.7, as Asarel Castro was 35th in 19:50.8. Anthony Vasquez was 37th in 19:55.7, Felix Gonzalez was 43rd in 20:19 and Cooper Thacker rounded out scoring in 59th in 21:31.2.

BK-CGD was 11th with 248 team points, as Nolan Muhlenbruch was their top placer in 33rd in 19:40, as Logan Torsell was 44th in 20:21.6. Eduardo Rivera was 46th in 20:29.7, Leo Ertel was 49th in 20:35.4 and Samuel Williams was 78th in 23:49.5.

Eagle Grove cross country returns to action next Thursday, when they travel to Clear Lake to compete in the Clear Lake Invitational at Veterans Memorial Golf Club. BK-CGD cross country returns to action on Monday, when they compete in the West Fork Invite at Ridge Stone Golf Course in Sheffield.
