ALGONA — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the drive into Kossuth County to take on the Algona Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Algona High School. Webster City entered at 6-3, as Algona entered at 3-0.
Algona would dominate the first set from the get out, taking the opener 25-13. However, Webster City would rally in set 2, as the Lynx and Bulldogs battled back and forth into extra rallies, as it would be Algona that hung on for a 27-25 win. Webster City continued to keep the Bulldogs close in set 3, but Algona would make one final push for a 25-22 win and cap a 3-0 victory.
Tristyn Wright would lead the Lynx with 6 kills and 9 assists, as Jalyn Bahrenfuss tallied 5 kills. Evie Davis and Avery Poppen each tallied 3 kills, while Ashlee Nydegger had a kill and 3 blocks.
Webster City volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Clear Lake in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School, with first serve at 7:30 PM.
