WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team returned to action on Tuesday, as they hosted the Charles City Comets in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered Tuesday at 4-3, while Charles City entered at 0-2.
It would be a tough start for the Lynx, as top singles player Allie Severe fell in the first match 2-1 (3-6, 6-3, 1-0). However, Webster City would dominate from there as Alivia Burns, Gabbie Sebert and Sylvia Otteros won their matches 2-0 and did not allow a single point in their matches. Olivia Bergman would win 2-0 (6-3, 7-5) in position 5, as Natalie Segar ended singles with a 2-0 (6-0, 6-0) win.
Webster City would dominate doubles, as Allie Severe and Alivia Burns won the first match 2-0 (6-2, 6-2), as Gabbie Sebert and Olivia Bergman also won 2-0 (6-0, 6-1). Paisyn Bare and Camdyn Coons rounded out the match with a 2-0 (6-3, 6-0) win to clinch an 8-1 meet victory for Webster City.
Webster City girls tennis returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Nevada to take on the Cubs in North Central Conference action at the SCORE Recreation Complex in Nevada at 4:30 PM.
