STORY CITY — The Webster City Lynx, Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks volleyball teams opened their 2025 seasons on Monday night, as Roland-Story hosted an early bird quad. The 3 schools were joined by Central Springs as well.
Webster City would go 2-1 on the day, opening with a 2-1 win over Central Springs (21-15, 18-21, 15-8). Tristyn Wright and Jaylyn Bahrenfuss each recorded 6 kills, as Lovie Pruismann had 8 assists, and Evie Davis recorded 4 aces. The Lynx followed by sweeping South Hamilton 2-0 (21-8, 21-17), Jaylyn Bahrenfuss had 5 kills, while Tristyn Wright had 4 kills and 3 assists, as Alivia Burns recorded 3 aces. Webster City would drop the final match to the #7 Norsemen by a 2-0 final (13-21, 20-22), as Tristyn Wright had 4 kills and 10 assists, while Avery Poppen also had 4 kills and a block.
Roland-Story would go a perfect 3-0 on Monday, opening with a 2-0 win over South Hamilton (21-13, 21-8). Brookelyn Jondle led with 7 kills and 5 aces, as Caitlyn Flattebo had 5 kills, and Miley Geise had 3 kills and 14 assists. The Norsemen then dominated Central Springs 2-0 (21-6, 21-6), as Brookelyn Jondle tallied 6 kills and Miley Geise accumulated 9 assists and 3 aces. In their win over Webster City, Brookelyn Jondle totaled 7 kills, as Maddi Lucas, Caitlyn Flattebo and Allie Janes added 4 kills each, with Miley Geise tallying 21 assists.
South Hamilton would go 1-2 on Monday, with their losses to Roland-Story and Webster City, but defeated Central Springs by a 2-0 margin (21-18, 21-14). South Hamilton did not have stats entered in Bound as of Tuesday morning.
Webster City volleyball returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Boone to take on the Toreadors at 7:15 PM on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com. Roland-Story returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Bondurant-Farrar tournament in Bondurant beginning at 8 AM. South Hamilton returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Conrad to compete in a tri with BCLUW and South Hardin, beginning at 5:30 PM.
