Man sentenced to life in prison for September 2024 murder of Farnhamville teen

ROCKWELL CITY — The convicted murderer of a Farnhamville teenager will now spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

21-year old Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney was charged with first-degree murder following the murder of 17-year old Farnhamville resident Michele “Luna” Jackson, by cutting her throat and then attempting to hide her body. Bevers-McGivney was found guilty in July in a trial held in Calhoun County Court.

On Friday, Bevers-McGivney was sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the first-degree murder charge, while receiving an additional 10 years for the charge of abuse of a corpse.

Calhoun County Judge Derek Johnson proclaimed the murder a “terrible” act “and there is nothing about this case that warrants any sign of leniency from this court” just prior to the sentencing.

Members of Jackson’s family also gave victim impact statements before the sentencing.
