Van Langen farm of Ellsworth named Century and Heritage Farm recipients at the Iowa State Fair.

The Douglas and Konni VanLangen farm of Ellsworth was recognized at the Iowa State Fair this week as the Century and Heritage Farm by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and Iowa Farm Bureau Federation President Brent Johnson honored the VanLangen family along with 448 Iowa farm families with Century or Heritage Farm designations at the Iowa State Fair. The program celebrates farms that have been owned by the same families for 100 and 150 years, respectively. The VanLangen farm near Ellsworth has been owned by the family for 150 years since 1875.
