2025 KQRadio Volleyball Preview: Eagle Grove Eagles

EAGLE GROVE — A program that has been struggling for well over 2 decades, Eagle Grove volleyball found themselves putting down a foundation in 2024 under 1st-year head coach Jenna Whipple. Despite posting a 3-16 record similar to 2023, 2024’s squad felt very different and building towards something more. This fall’s squad, albeit young, will look to capitalize on the positive momentum.

Front Row

It will be a task to replace some key front row pieces for Eagle Grove in 2025, as the Eagles lose Addy Jeske, Natalie Pedersen, Myah Edwards and Tarissa Middleton from the front row rotation. Kendra Schild is the top front row player back, tallying 58 kills and 6 blocks in her junior year. Elsewhere, it’s expected that the Eagles will be undersized, but not outhustled as names to watch in the front row include Mya Morgan, Addisyn Eittrem and Taytum Edwards.

Back Row

The Eagles do bring back some varsity experience in the back row with Holly Anderson, who is expected to be a big 2-way player for the Eagles with her attacking and defensive play. Ellie Lenning will step into the role of setter full-time with the departure of Kennedy Thacker, while younger players to watch in the back row include Salem Willard, Addie Pamperin and Chloe Schultz.

Eagle Grove volleyball opens their 2025 season on August 26th when they travel to Gowrie to take on Southeast Valley in non-conference action at Southeast Valley High School at 7 PM and can be heard on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com,
