Jewell- At their Monday meeting, the Jewell City Council learned the work on replacing the water main on Jewell Street will begin in the next three weeks. The town water mains are being cleaned by crews of W and G firm which should wrap up soon. The Jewell City Pool had their annual inspection recently. The filter tanks in the chemical roomm will need to be replaced as they are severely rusted,leaking continuously. There is no longer any way to assess the tanks.
Jewell City Council member Aaron Boor made a motion to have the prospective buyer for the two empty lots on Park Street to make an offer for them. The council approved the request with more discussion at a future council meeting.
The Jewell City Council Monday decided to suspend the conversation regarding crosswalks on Main Street.
