BOONE COUNTY- The Iowa State Patrol investigated an accident at midafternoon Saturday in rural Boone County that claimed the life of a motorcyclist from Waukee. The accident happened at the intersection of I Avenue and 280th Street near Ogden. Reportedly a 2024 model Chevrolet Silverado pickup operated by Wayne Reinhart of Alleman was traveling eastbound 280th Street while a 2025 Honda motorcycle operated by Bobby Joe Rodriguez of Waukee was traveling north on I Avenue. Both vehicles entered the uncontrolled intersection at the same time due to the tall corn obstructing the vision of both drivers. The vehicles collided at the intersection and then landed into a bean field. Bobby Jo Rodriguez died as a result of his injuries. Reinhart escaped injury in the accident. Two others were injured in the accident. They were identified as Rebecca Rodriguez and Noah Rodriguez both of Waukee were flown by Life Flight to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines for treatment of their injuries.
