The cause of a Fort Dodge restaurant fire remains under investigation.

FORT DODGE- The cause behind an early morning fire Wednesday at a Fort Dodge restaurant remains under investigation. The Fort Dodge Fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from Amigos at 280 South First Street shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday morning. When firefighters arrived, smoke was coming from the attic and rear of the structure. Fire attack, search and ventilation procedures were immediately initiated. The fire was significantly involved in the attic and on the south side of the structure. There was a total of 18 Fort Dodge Fire Department personnel were on-site for about three hours, One firefighter sustained a non-life-threatening injury on Wednesday.The building housing Amigos is currently owned by MWC,LLC. The Fort Dodge Police Department and Mid-American Energy assisted at the fire scene Wednesday.
