There will be another member of the Webster City City Council who will not seek re-election this November. Matt McKinney announced Monday evening he will be leaving the council at the end of this year when his term ends. McKinney has been with the council for the past 12 years. He thanked the city council and staff for his years of service. This is the second Webster City City Council member in a week announcing he would not seek another term. Logan Welch announced last week that he will be leaving the council after 12 years. Webster City Mayor John Hawkins announced he would seek another term on the city council in November. Hawkins has been serving on the council for 12 years. Nomination papers for the three seats on the Webster City Council may be taken out starting August 25th at the municipal building and must be returned by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18th. The two other members to the Webster City City Council are Abbie Hansen and Megan McFarland. Their terms will expire at the end of 2027.
