Fort Dodge Police charge two 18-year-olds after early Tuesday morning incident.

FORT DODGE- Fort Dodge Police Tuesday morning charged two 18-year-old boys with numerous charges after an incident in the city. The Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of an assault that had taken place at 1414 Second Avenue South early Tuesday morning. When officers arrived, they located a 17-year-old juvenile male that had sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault. The officers on the scene spoke to the victim and it was discovered that threats were made involving firearms. A description of the suspects as well as the vehicle that they were traveling in, was passed on to officers. A Fort Dodge Police officer on Tuesday located the suspect vehicle occupied behind an apartment complex in the 2800 block of 10th Avenue North. The occupant in the driver’s seat took off running but was quickly apprehended. The passenger in the vehicle fled the scene on foot and was not immediately located. Fort Dodge Police officers and detectives with the criminal investigation division were able to identify the occupant that fled the scene. A search was obtained and executed at 2809 Tenth Avenue North in Fort Dodge. The second suspect was located and taken into custody. As a result of the investigation thus far, two arrests have been made on the following individuals from Fort Dodge on the following charges:

18-year-old Riley J. Camden was charged with Going Armed with Intent, Interference with Official Acts Armed with a Firearm, Trafficking Stolen Weapons, and Assault in Violation of Individual  Rights with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury,all are Class D Felonies. A Person Ineligible to carry Dangerous Weapons which is a Serious Misdemeanor. Public Intoxication which is a Simple Misdemeanor.

18-year-old Dylan B. Crawford was charged with Going Armed with Intent, Interference with Official Acts Armed with a Firearm and Assault in Violation of Individual Rights with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, all are Class D Felonies.

Both Camden and Crawford are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Based on the investigation to this point, it is believed that this was a targeted, isolated incident and not a random act of violence. Assisting Fort Dodge Police in the investigation are the Webster County Attorney’s Office and the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
