The Iowa Workforce Development Office reported Tuesday that there the unemployment rate for Hamilton County was up slightly for June. The rate was 3.2 percent. This was up from the May rate of 3.1 percent. In June,2024, the unemployment rate was at 2.1 percent. There were 7,701 people in Hamilton County employed in June with 251 people unemployed in the latest stats released. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties for June showed Boone County at 3.6 percent, Franklin and Webster Counties both at 4.2 percent, Hardin and Story Counties both at 3.2 percent and Wright County at 3.8 percent. Iowa’s unemployment rate for June released last Friday,July 18th was at 3.7 percent up from the May rate of 3.6 percent. There were 1,671,793 people employed across Iowa during June while 63,678 people unemployed.
