Webster City City Council to meet Monday evening,July 21st at 6:00 p.m.

A discussion with the concerns of residents with the 700 block alley between Elm and Walnut Streets will be one of the topics at this Monday evening’s meeting of the Webster City City Council beginning at 6:00 in the city council chambers. There will be a discussion on the proposed improvements at the Webster City water plant. A public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the 2025 Chip Seal Program. The 2025 Chip Seal Program would provide chip seal along with recommended crack sealing and
patching for three streets, Union Street from Second Street to Elm Street; Water Street from Beach
Street to Prospect Street; and Walnut Street from Broadway Street to Superior Street. Chip sealing is a
proven, cost-effective way to extend pavement life and is an aggressive surface treatment for the
sealing of cracks and prevention of water intrusion. It is anticipated that the City Public Works Staff
would construct core outs for patching and provide observation construction services.

The Webster City city council will host the second reading on ordinances for special 45 mile per hour speed zones in the city, the Webster City Hotel Motel Tax and Stop requirements on certain streets. The design for the Webster City Wastewater Treatment Plant will be presented for discussion. In one other matter the Webster City city council will welcome Gabe Ackerson as a new member of the Webster City Police Department.
