South Hamilton softball season ends against South Hardin, 6-0

The South Hamilton Hawks softball team returned to action on Monday evening, as they hosted the South Hardin Tigers in Class 2A, Region 4 action at the Mike Penning Athletic Complex in Jewell. South Hamilton entered at 7-22, while South Hardin entered at 3-19.

Monday’s game would move at quick pace, as after a scoreless first, South Hardin got on the board with a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead. South Hardin would continue to add on to their lead, scoring a run in the 3rd, 4th and 6th to take a 4-0 lead. South Hamilton had opportunities to add runs, but left runners stranded in a number of innings as a 2-run homer in the 7th would capitalize a 6-0 win for South Hardin.

Claire Hewitt went 2-for-4 with a double, as Emma Lammers and Sydnee Flaugh also recorded hits in the game. Lammers pitched all 7 innings, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 11 hits and struck out 4.

South Hardin advances to face top-seeded Osage on Wednesday night at 7 PM. South Hamilton’s season ends with a record of 7-23.
