Roland-Story softball falls at (1A) #2 Clarksville, 10-1

The Roland-Story Norsemen softball team returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip to Butler County to take on the Clarksville Indians in non-conference action at Clarksville High School. Roland-Story entered at 11-13, while Clarksville entered at 24-4 and ranked #2 in Class 1A.

Clarksville would plate a run in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead, and following a scoreless 3rd, the Indians managed to put up 3 runs in the 4th to hold a 5-0 advantage. Roland-Story got on the board in the 5th with an Evelyn Carlson solo home run to make it 5-1, but Clarksville answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th to end the game early in a 10-1, 5-inning victory.

Evelyn Carlson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, while Peyton Jeter and Keely Oberender both recorded hits. Miley Geise was charged with the loss, allowing 5 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and struck out 3.

Roland-Story softball returns to action on Tuesday, as they host the Ballard Bombers in non-conference action with first pitch at 7 PM.
