A 63-year-old Scranton man died Tuesday afternoon in an accident in rural Greene County. The accident happened on Highway 25 just south of 320th Street near Bayard at around 3:40 p.m.The Iowa State Patrol reported a southbound 1969 model Farmall tractor operated by Michael T. Dahl of Scranton was struck in the rear by a southbound 1989 model Mercury driven by Neal Schoon of Bayard. Dahl was knocked over as the tractor was pushed into the west ditch. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Schoon escaped injury in the Tuesday accident which remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Greene County Sheriffs Office.
