Eagle Grove softball falls to North Union in Swea City, 5-2

The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Tuesday, as they made the trip into northern Kossuth County to take on the North Union Warriors in Top of Iowa West action at North Union Middle School in Swea City. Eagle Grove entered at 14-8, while North Union entered at 19-5.

North Union would be first on the board with 2 runs in the bottom of the first, and following a scoreless 2nd, Eagle Grove answered with 2 runs of their own in the 3rd to tie the game at 2-2. The Warrios then answered with 2 runs in the 4th to take a 4-2 lead, as they added an insurance run in the 6th to take a 5-2 lead and capture a 5-2 victory.

Holly Anderson went 1-for-3 with a double, Crystal Flores went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, as Lily Locke also drove in a run. Mya Morgan pitched all 6 innings, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 10 hits and striking out 2.

Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Wednesday when they host the North Iowa Bison in Top of Iowa West action for senior night at Greenwood Park, with first pitch at 6 PM.
