This Friday will bring a number of closings to the Webster City and Hamiton County area in observance of the July 4th Independence Day holiday. There will be many businesses closed for the day and for some, there will be closings for the entire weekend and will reopen on Monday,July 7th. The Hamilton County Courthouse, all county offices and the Webster City Municipal Building will be closed this Friday. There will be closings at every city hall across Hamilton County on Friday as well. The Independence Day holiday Friday will mean the closing of all financial institutions and professional offices. You will not be getting your mail on Friday since there will be no city or rural mail delivery. All post offices will be closed. The Webster City Post Office lobby will be open to benefit box holders, but the customer service window will be closed Friday. Mail service will resume on Saturday. If you need a postage stamp Friday, you may purchase one at any convenience or grocery stores. The Fuller Hall Recreation Center and the Webster City Outdoor Swimming Pool will be closed for Friday’s holiday. Kendall Young Library will be closed from 7 Thursday evening until Monday morning, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. to allow their staff to enjoy the July 4th holiday weekend. All high school athletic events will be off on Friday as the athletes prepare for the playoffs in baseball and softball in the coming days.
