Hamilton County Conservation reviews the Solar Array at Briggs Woods Park at June meeting.

The Solar Array at Briggs Woods Park was reviewed during the June meeting of the Hamilton County Conservation Board held Thursday. Terry Dvorak from Red Lion Renewables of Norwalk presented a program on the first year of the solar panel system at the park. The first year of savings was set at $2300 for the park and conservation department. The first year of a solar power generation agreement was signed by conservation director Brian Lammers to be submitted to the Red Lion Renewable.

There will be a search for a permanent campground host at Little Wall Lake since the previous couple have decided to step down after 13 years due to health concerns. Lammers informed the conservation board that there are couple of people who are stepping up to help out for the rest of the camping season at the park located south of Jewell.

In another matter, the Hamilton County Conservation Board on Thursday approved the application for a wildlife grant through the Iowa DNR . The conservation office will be notified by next month whether or not the grant is approved.
