South Hamilton baseball falls to PCM at home, 6-2

The South Hamilton Hawks baseball team returned to action on Wednesday, as they hosted the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at the Mike Penning Athletic Complex in Jewell. South Hamilton entered at 2-11, while PCM entered at 6-9.

PCM would put up a run in the 1st, only to be rebutted by a South Hamilton run in the bottom of the 1st that scored on an error to tie the game at 1-1. PCM would reclaim the lead in the 2nd on an RBI double at 2-1, adding on another run in the 4th to go up 3-1. South Hamilton got a run back as Brayden Moore scored on an error following a dropped 3rd strike to cut the lead to 3-2, but PCM answered in the 5th with 3 runs to cap a 6-2 win.

Brayden Moore would go 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, while Landon Sogar went 3-for-3 with 3 singles. Braden Young was charged with the loss, allowing 6 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits and striking out 7.

South Hamilton baseball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Perry to take on the Bluejays in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 7:30 PM.
