Nobiling appointed to serve on Jewell City Council.

Jennifer Nobiling is the newest member of the Jewell City Council. She was one of three people interviewed for the council seat this week during the council meeting. Nobiling, Jeff Engelby and Crystal Tice were interviewed by the council last Monday evening. Nobiling frequently attends the city council meetings and would be most up to speed with current topics.She will take over for Loyal Winborn who resigned from the council this spring. Nobiling was administered the oath of office. Her term will expire at the end of this year. Aaron Boor was appointed as Jewell’s mayor pro tem. The council approved Boor’s appointment. The council thanked both Jeff Engelby and Crystal Tice for their interest in the city council seat. This fall there will be four seats up for election on the Jewell City Council.

The Jewell City Council heard from its public works director Terry Anderson that the electric pump has serviced the wells at the town water tower. Anderson informed the council that Maguire Water Tank Service of Sioux Falls was putting together prices for portable water storage for the upcoming water tower project in Jewell. There is a risk mitigation manager looking into the project.

There was a discussion of reinstalling some of the T-Mobile cameras purchased in 2022. Specifically, the lagoon and park were mentioned as possible locations. Cameras will be discussed more at the next meeting.
