The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Tuesday, as they made the trip into Palo Alto County to take on the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines in non-conference action at West Bend-Mallard High School. Eagle Grove entered at 10-6, while West Bend-Mallard entered at 2-11.
Eagle Grove started things off fast with 4 runs in the first, followed by a run each in the 2nd and 3rd to go ahead 6-0. West Bend-Mallard responded with a run in the 3rd and 4th to cut the margin to 6-2, as scoring ceased until the 7th, when Eagle Grove poured on 7 runs to take a 13-2 lead and the win.
Addy Jeske had the top day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and 2 walks, while Crystal Flores and Holly Anderson each went 2-for-5 with an RBI each. Mya Morgan pitched the complete game, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and striking out 11.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Lake Mills to take on the Bulldogs with 1st pitch at 6 PM at the Lake Mills Sports Complex.
