The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Monday, as they hosted the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. The Eagles entered with a record of 9-6, with Bishop Garrigan entered at 5-7.
Eagle Grove started off with a run in the 1st as Crystal Flores would reach with a single, and eventually score followed by a cavalcade of Golden Bear errors to put the Eagles ahead 1-0. Following a scoreless 2nd, Eagle Grove put up 3 runs on a wild pitch and a Mya Morgan 2-run RBI double to put the Eagles ahead 4-0. The game would then be blown up in the 4th as Eagle Grove put up 6 runs off a steal of home, a Holly Anderson 2-run RBI double and 3 Golden Bear errors to walk things off early with a 10-0, 4-inning victory.
Holly Anderson would go 2-for-3 with a 2-run RBI double, while Mya Morgan went 1-for-3, also with a 2-run RBI double. Morgan also picked up the win in the circle, allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out 2 in 4 innings.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to West Bend-Mallard to take on the Wolverines in non-conference action, with first pitch at 6:30 PM.
