Clarion-Goldfield-Dows softball shutout at Iowa Falls-Alden, 11-0

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls softball team returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip to Hardin County to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. CGD entered with a record of 0-14, while IF-A entered at 5-7.

Iowa Falls-Alden would set the tone early, with a prosperous 10-run first inning to take a 10-0 lead. Following a scoreless 2nd, IF-A was able to add another run in the 3rd to take an 11-0 lead, as the Cadets held CGD off the scoreboard in the 4th to take an 11-0, 4-inning victory.

Kayla Hasty would record the lone Cowgirl hit on the night, as well as having a stolen base. Tess Wibholm was charged with the loss, allowing 9 runs on 5 hits and striking out 1.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows softball returns to action on Wednesday, when they host the Algona Bulldogs in North Central Conference action with first pitch at 7:30 PM.
