The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks softball teams returned to action over the weekend, as they competed in the 2-day Kiwanis Tournament, hosted by Roland-Story at the Hennessey Diamonds in Roland. The Norsemen and Hawks were joined by ADM, Benton Community, Central Springs, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden, Mount Vernon and Solon.
Roland-Story would start off their tournament on Saturday, falling to Benton Community by a score of 14-5. Peyton Jeter would go 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and a single, while Eva Corcoran went 1-for-2 with a double. Miley Geise was charged with the loss, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits and striking out 4.
The Norsemen would follow up on Saturday by falling to Pella by a score of 13-0, before losing to Solon by a score of 10-0 to wrap up the tournament.
South Hamilton would lose to Benton Community in their first game with by a score of 11-2, before losing to (4A) #5 ADM by a score of 8-0 in 5 innings.
