Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys wrestling will have a new head coach for the 2025-26 wrestling season as Cory Yoder was named the Cowboys new coach at the last school board meeting on June 10th.
Yoder spent last season as an assistant coach for the Cowboys, who finished 3rd in the Class 2A State Dual Tournament and placed 17th in the Class 2A Traditional State Tournament under the direction of Dillion Anderson.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Yoder takes over a CGD program that shares with Belmond-Klemme, Yoder’s alma mater and the school his father, John Yoder, was Hall of Fame coach for from 1977 to 1995, while also leading the football program from 1992 to 1998, before spending 3 season as an assistant coach at Clarion-Goldfield from 1999 to 2001, as well as being a native from Eagle Grove.
Cory Yoder will take over a Cowboy program that is expected to contend for not only a state dual title, but a traditional state title in 2026.
