Webster City baseball falls at Humboldt in NCC action, 13-2

The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Wednesday, as they made the trip west to take on the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Humboldt High School. Webster City entered at 6-11, while Humboldt entered at 15-5.

Humboldt would take immediate command of the contest with a 9-run 1st inning to put the Wildcats ahead 9-0. Following a scoreless 2nd, Humboldt responded with 2 runs in the 3rd and 2 runs in the 4th to take a 13-0 lead. Webster City would get on the board in the 5th with a 2-run RBI single from Brady Asklund, but it would not be enough to continue the game in a 13-2 defeat.

Gavin Griffith would go 2-for-3, Carter Mickelson would go 2-for-2 with a double, as Brady Asklund went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI. Matt Tesdahl was charged with the loss, not escaping the 1st inning by allowing 8 runs (6 earned) on 5 hits.
