The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday, as they hosted the West Hancock Eagles in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. The Eagles entered at 6-5, while West Hancock entered at 0-10.
Eagle Grove got off to a quick start, putting up a run in the 1st off a Crystal Flores sac fly to take a 1-0 lead. Scoring would stop until the 4th when West Hancock put up 2 runs off an error and a steal of home to go ahead 2-1. West Hancock would hold that 2-1 lead until the 6th, when Eagle Grove put up 5 runs in the 6th off an RBI triple by Crystal Flores, a Lilly Locke RBI single, an Addison Eittrem steal of home and a Myka Anderson 2-run RBI single to put Eagle Grove up 6-2 and cap a 6-2 victory.
Addy Jeske would go 2-for-3 with a triple, while Crystal Flores went 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI. Mya Morgan would be sensational in the circle, pitching the complete game, allowing 2 runs (0 earned) on 2 hits and a career-high 12 strikeouts.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Belmond-Klemme to take on the Broncos in Top of Iowa West action with first pitch at 6 PM.
