This week the Stanhope City Council discussed a 28E agreement with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. Stanhope Mayor Kelly Wirtz explained that this is an agreement with Hamilton County. No copy of the 28E agreement has been received. Without further information from the Hamilton County Supervisors and the Sheriff’s Department, Mayor Wirtz suggested tabling this issue for now pending further information. Mayor Wirtz will invite the supervisors and the sheriff’s department to the next city council meeting in July to discuss the agreement further.
Stanhope received a second quote for a rate study, Blair Metzger with DGR Engineering is the engineer that has helped Stanhope in the past. Metzger tried many times to reach out to the city of Stanhope to keep the process going but was never replied to. At which point he quit trying. Nothing has been touched or updated since 2021 so this could take time to get back on track. The Stanhope City Council will continue to work with DGR Engineering as they know about the electrical substation.
The Stanhope City Council learning about the plans in advertising a new patrolman. The goal is to hire a new patrolman by July 14,2025.
