
The South Hamilton Hawks softball team returned to action on Thursday, as they made the trip south on Highway 69 to take on the Ballard Bombers in non-conference action at Ballard Middle School. South Hamilton entered at 2-10, while Ballard entered at 3-9.
Ballard would make the early statement in the game, putting up 10 runs in the bottom of the 1st, including a Zoe Wilson grand slam, to take a 10-0 lead. From there, no other offense was to be found as the Bombers claimed a 10-0 victory in 4 innings.
Sydnee Flaugh and Jill Hesse would record the lone hits for the Hawks, as Hesse was charged with the loss, allowing 10 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits and striking out 3 in 3 innings.
South Hamilton softball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Nevada to take on the Cubs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Nevada High School, beginning at 7:30 PM.
