
The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Thursday, as they hosted the Central Springs Panthers in non-conference action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. The Eagles entered at 5-3, while Central Springs entered at 6-2 and ranked #8 in Class 2A.
Central Springs would get on the board right away with a run in the first, followed by 3 runs in the 2nd to take a 4-0 lead. Following a scoreless 3rd, the Panthers blew the lid off the game with 7 runs in the 4th to take an 11-0 lead and eventually force a run-rule, 11-0 victory in 4 innings.
Myka Anderson recorded the lone Eagles hit on the evening, as Mya Morgan was charged with the loss, allowing 8 runs (6 earned) on 6 hits and striking out 5.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Buffalo Center to take on North Iowa in Top of Iowa West action at 6 PM.
