
The South Hamilton Hawks baseball team returned to action on Tuesday, as they made the trip down to Des Moines to take on the Saydel Eagles in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Jim Gebhart Field. South Hamilton entered at 2-4, while Saydel entered at 10-2 and ranked #10 in Class 3A.
The first two innings would be scoreless on Tuesday, but Saydel would be first on the board with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 2-0 lead. The Eagles would then come alive for 5 runs in the 4th, and following a scoreless 5th, walked things off with a 3-run 6th and enforced the 10-run rule for a 10-0 victory.
South Hamilton would not record a hit on Tuesday, as the only baserunners for the Hawks were Brayden Moore on a walk and drawn hit-by-pitches from Parker Stuck and Braden Young. Conner Deppe was charged with the loss, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits and striking out 1.
South Hamilton baseball returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Slater to take on the Ballard Bombers at Nite Hawk Field with 1st pitch at 7 PM.
