
The South Hamilton Hawks baseball team returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip to Jefferson to take on the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Allensworth Field. South Hamilton entered at 1-4, while Greene County entered at 1-5.
South Hamilton would jump on the Rams early, putting up 3 runs in the frame off a pair of errors and an Andrew Jensen RBI double to make it 3-0. Greene County answered with a run in the 3rd and a run in the 4th to cut the deficit to make it 3-2, as South Hamilton answered with another Andrew Jensen RBI single in the 5th to go up 4-2. The Hawks then added another run on a Brody Harris RBI single to put South Hamilton up 3 and give them a 5-2 win.
Andrew Jensen would go 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, while Garrett Johnson went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. Landon Sogard pitched the complete game, allowing 2 runs (0 earned) on 4 hits and striking out 12.
South Hamilton baseball returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Des Moines to take on Saydel in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 7:30 PM.
