Clarion-Goldfield-Dows softball falls in 4 innings to Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 11-1

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls softball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at CGD High School. HD-CAL entered at 2-4, while CGD entered at 0-7.

HD-CAL would jump on the board quickly with 4 runs in the 1st, before CGD answered as Quinn Brooks scored a run after reaching on an error to make the score 4-1. The Bulldogs would then add 2 runs in the 2nd, 2 runs in the 3rd, and 3 runs in the 4th to close out an 11-1, 4-inning victory.

Graclyn Bremmer registered the lone Cowgirl hit in the contest, as Quinn Brooks scored the lone CGD run. Tess Wibholm would be charged with the loss, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 3 hits and striking out 1 in 2 innings of work.

CGD softball returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Belmond to take on Belmond-Klemme in non-conference action at 6 PM.
