
The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Friday, as they made the trip to Jasper County to take on the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at PCM Elementary School in Prairie City. Roland-Story entered at 9-4, while PCM entered at 2-4.
Roland-Story would strike first in the 1st, with Cael Faber scoring on an Aiden Frey RBI fielder’s choice to put the Norsemen up 1-0. That 1-0 lead would go into the 5th, when the Norsemen added insurance runs off a 2-run RBI single by Colin Willis to put Roland-Story up 3-0 as they would hold serve for the victory.
Colin Willis would go 1-for-3 with his 2-run RBI single, while Sam Knoll, Jake Knoll and Cael Faber all recorded hits for the Norsemen. Faber would pitch a gem, throwing a complete game, 2-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts.
Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Des Moines to take on Saydel in a HOIAC doubleheader at Jim Gebhart Field, beginning at 5 PM.
